Giclée (zshee-clay), the French word for "spatter," refers
to the way ink is applied to paper using a special high-resolution, large-format inkjet printer. Original artwork is professionally scanned, and the resulting digital image is then output with very high accuracy onto art paper. Current technology has immensely advanced the quality of fine-art prints. If protected from UV radiation, fine art giclées printed with archival-quality pigments on archival, low-acid paper will last 200 years before any noticeable color changes occur. Therefore, these prints may be called museum-quality fine art reproductions. |
